Apple's highly anticipated next smartphone, iPhone 7, is likely to made of aluminum, and may feature the so-called "Force Touch."

According to a report from Valuewalk.com, the next iPhone may be constructed from an aluminum material called the "7000 Series," which was also used in the Apple Watch Sport.

The iPhone 7's material is reported to be "extremely durable," and may also be used by Apple in its next tablet, the iPad Pro.

Computerworld.com meanwhile reported that Apple's exclusive deal with Liquid Metal bolsters the belief that the iPhone 7 will be made of aluminum.

The material, which is likely to be blasted with zirconia beads for a more stunning finish, is also supposedly 60 percent stronger than the current iPhone 6.

The Wall Street Journal meanwhile earlier reported that the upcoming iPhone 7 will have more sensors to enable the smartphone to detect how hard a user is pressing the screen.

Macrumors.com meanwhile quoted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has correctly reported Apple's upcoming plans with its gadgets, as saying that the so-called Force Touch technology will "monitor the contact area on which the finger touches the screen to decide how big the pressure is."

The release date of the iPhone 7 has yet to be ascertained. It may come in late 2015, but this can be pushed back to allow better sales for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

Some rumors have claimed that Apple will look to launch the iPhone 7 in September 2015, which would match the launch date of previous iPhones.
