COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Christian Examiner) – After a nearly 5-hour standoff with police, a lone gunman surrendered to police after he allegedly shot and killed three—and inured nine others at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The gunman was not identified, according to a Friday night story in the Washington post, but was said to be a white make with a beard, long jacket, and a hunting hat.

Throughout the standoff, speculation was rampant as the gunman's motive.

On social media and on television news stations and Cable TV, comments alleged the gunman possibly targeted Planned Parenthood because of videos released in the past year questioning the ethics of the largest abortion provider in the nation.

Others were skeptical of what could have been premature conclusions about the gunman's movements and motive.

"As far as I can tell, we don't know the motive of the Planned Parenthood shooter; he's just in the same mall as #PP. P[r]ay for all involved," wrote Matthew Schneider, who identifies himself as a Catholic priest and writer.
