Planned Parenthood: Undercover video catches top doctor in compromising talk about fetal tissue
WASHINGTON (Christian Examiner) – A video showing a Planned Parenthood doctor describing how body parts and tissue of aborted babies is sold and shipped has caught the nation's attention.
The undercover footage, release July 14 by the Center for Medical Progress apparently shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America Senior Director of Medical Services Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing the process to actors.
The doctor believes she is at a business lunch with buyers from a human biologics company, the video purports. She oversees medical practices at all Planned Parenthood locations since 2009 and trains all new abortion doctors.
In the video, Nucatola, who also performs abortions, admits using partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts of aborted fetuses to suppliers -- potentially putting the lives of the mothers at risk.
The buyers ask Nucatola, "How much of a difference can that actually make, if you know kind of what's expected, or what we need?"
"It makes a huge difference," Nucatola replies in the video. "I'd say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they'll know where they're putting their forceps. The kind of rate-limiting step of the procedure is calvarium. Calvarium—the head—is basically the biggest part."
Nucatola continues to explain, "We've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I'm not gonna crush that part, I'm gonna basically crush below, I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact."
Although a CNN report notes in the video there is a discussion of tissue donation, but also a reference to a profit being made in the process.
Art Caplan of New York University told CNN it sounds like Planned Parenthood might be trying to make a profit. He said the primary goal in an abortion is to give the safest one, and it would be an ethical concern to change up the procedure to procure a valuable body part.
In patient care, Caplan told CNN: "When someone is dying, doctors shouldn't change how they treat the patient in order to harvest good tissue for donation after death."
CNN notes selling fetal parts is against the law.
UNITED WAY CONTRIBUTIONS TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD
A consumer advocacy group 2nd Vote has told LifeNews.com that United Way is a major donor to Planned Parenthood, giving nearly $2 million annually to the largest abortion provider in the country.
This information about United Way contradicts what they claim is a "neutral stance" according to 2nd Vote spokesperson Robert Kuykendall.
"However, the fact that United Way affiliates give almost $2 million annually to Planned Parenthood is concerning for Pro-Lifers that would want to support these good causes but also want to make sure that their dollars do not help fund abortion services."

Meanwhile, a Breitbart commentator in a report noted Planned Parenthood's founder Margaret Sanger praised Nazi Germany's sterilization policies and wrote 70 years ago, in a piece called "Birth Control and Racial Betterment":

Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit. Both are seeking a single end but they lay emphasis upon different methods.
Eugenists emphasize the mating of healthy couples for the conscious purpose of producing healthy children, the sterilization of the unfit to prevent their populating the world with their kind and they may, perhaps, agree with us that contraception is a necessary measure among the masses of the workers, where wages do not keep pace with the growth of the family and its necessities in the way of food, clothing, housing, medical attention, education and the like.
We who advocate Birth Control, on the other hand, lay all our emphasis upon stopping not only the reproduction of the unfit but upon stopping all reproduction when there is not economic means of providing proper care for those who are born in health. The eugenist also believes that a woman should bear as many healthy children as possible as a duty to the state. We hold that the world is already over-populated. Eugenists imply or insist that a woman's first duty is to the state; we contend that her duty to herself is her duty to the state.
There were two versions of the undercover video posted on YouTube -- an eight-minute, 51-second version and a "full" version that is two hours and 42 minutes.
