Israel & Islam military expert at Awakening 2015 conference
ORLANDO (Christian Examiner) -- An expert in Israel, Islam, and the Middle East will join Franklin Graham, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, David and Jason Benham and others known conservatives March 14 at "The Awakening 2015" in Orlando, Florida.
Major General Robert Dees, retired commander of the U.S. - Israeli Combined Task Force for Missile Defense -- and a past employee of Homeland Security where he worked as an Electronic Warfare Associate – will speak at the educational and inspirational event.
The one-day event is to address timely topics such as human trafficking, radical Islam, resistance to tyranny, the rise of Millennials, and Israel and America.
"It's time we join together as Christians and conservatives," organizers stated in a news release. "Take a stand for righteousness and justice and be part of a new revolution to take back America."
Mat Staver, chairman of Liberty Counsel, announced the high-profile speakers for the "faith and freedom" event meant to draw those interested in "Rebuilding the Wall" at what he says will be a "life-changing experience."
"As the war rages on against our shared values, we find ourselves in need of Rebuilding the Wall," Staver said.
The Behnam brother, David and Jason, were fired by HGTV for expressing their Christian beliefs, but instead of being bitter, they have turned the light on the attack on freedom of expression worldwide, correspondence from Liberty Counsel reads.
Whether it is a terrorist attack on a satirical newspaper in Paris, or the firing of an Atlanta fire chief, a battle is raging against freedom of speech and freedom of religion – the Benham brothers have said.
"It was one thing for us to lose a reality show on prime-time television for exercising our freedom of speech/expression/religion, but it's a whole new ballgame when people are suspended without pay and then fired because of their beliefs – let alone murdered!" the Benham brothers said. "So the question is what are we going to do about it? We believe it's time to take a stand–whatever the cost. Although we can't control the attacks, we can control how we react to them."
John Stemberger, president of Florida Family Policy Council said he has been to hundreds of conferences throughout the years but each year is drawn back to Awakening.
"I have been to a lot of conferences -- over thirty years, maybe hundreds. But The Awakening Conference was perhaps the best and most powerful conference I have ever attended. It was intellectual and yet deeply spiritual."
