House Lothbrok will have another love story when "Vikings" season 4 premieres on Feb. 18.

Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), the ruler of Denmark, will be caught in a feverish love spell by a beauty from a far-off land. The once thorn to the side of England and Normandy will get smitten by Yidu, a slave girl of exotic oriental origin, according to Icon vs Icon. To be portrayed by newcomer Dianne Doan, Yidu possesses a certain peculiar stance which greatly mystifies the savagely-cunning King Lothbrok.

The 25-year-old actress, who splits her time between Los Angeles and Vancouver, gave an explanation on why the Viking lord falls head over heels for her character.

"There was a sense of pressure since the Vikings have never met someone like Yidu, someone from a different culture and who brings different views into Kattegat," Doan said to Crave. "So it was important to me to do as much research about the time and dynasty as possible. But bringing a strong, and jaded realness to her as well."

Doan is known for her 2015 teeny-bopper role in Disney's "Descendants" wherein she played the daughter of Mulan. Her role in "Vikings" is an upward movement on her career path and has made her grateful for the television series' sense of antiquity.

"Before I watched the show, I had the perception that Vikings were all about violence, conquering lands and more violence. The show does a great job of showcasing the importance of family and loyalty. Vikings are portrayed as people who are looking to make a name for themselves, to earn respect and to leave a legacy. There's a great deal of vulnerability underneath all those battle scenes," she pointed in an interview with Glamore last July 2015.

"Vikings" is created and written by Michael Hirst ("The Tudors," "Camelot") and is History's first series with a script.
