"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 12 will bring collective anguish and disbelief into the hearts of "TVD" fans.

According to Futon Critic, principal character Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) will be the main focus of the upcoming episode as the supposedly good man will further decline in his morals and will go past the point of no return in his wickedness.

Damon's downfall, brought by his experience inside the Phoenix Stone, is not shared by his brother Stefan (Paul Wesley). The younger Salvatore still sees a light at the end of the tunnel in his brother's sudden downward spiral, only to have his heart stop as a realization turns everything upside down.

This suspenseful turn of events, however, is further put into aggravation with guest star Todd Lasance, who will have the crazed Damon dancing by his fingertips. Lasance plays a recurring character named Julian who has, in past episodes, shown his "let-us-eat-drink-and-be-merry" immortal life goal.

The midseason premiere episode "Hello Is Other People" was the springboard to Damon's killing spree, which had left fans to ask if any of the lead characters are still alive and kicking.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the audience should take a lot of consideration that the brothers will need to re-acquaint themselves with the real world after their horrible experience inside the Phoenix Stone.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 12, titled "Postcards from the Edge," will air on Feb. 12. The episode will tackle the condition of Caroline (Candice King) and the unnatural happenings that surround her post-pregnancy. She will seek assistance from Valerie Tulle regarding the now-dangerous consequences. Elsewhere, the triumvirate of Bonnie (Kat Graham), Nora (Scarlett Byrne), and Mary Louise (Teressa Liane), will all be in hot pursuit of a menacing vampire hunter.
