A spinoff of the popular zombie thriller "The Walking Dead" is set to be aired this summer, and has already been green lit for two seasons even before it airs.

The new show is also being eyes as a prospective rival of another popular cable series, the epic drama "Game of Thrones," on Sunday nights.
According to an article posted on the Forbes website, the spinoff of "The Walking Dead" will take place before the events of the original series. The new show will also take place in Los Angeles, which very far from the setting of the original series, Georgia.
AMC also released a few pictures from the spinoff, which shows the lead characters of the new show, Kim Dickens and Cliff Curtis, in what seems to be an isolated location. Another photo shows Dickens comforting his children, who apparently were fearing the zombie apocalyptic situation.
