The Incredibles 2 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: New Villain Emerging to Fight Superhero Family
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel to to smash-hit animated film, "The Incredibles," even since it was announced last year that a second movie is in the works.
Those who have seen the first film, first released in 2014, are already curious about what happened to Bob and Helen Parr, who were past superheroes Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, and their children, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack.
In March last year, Brad Bird, the director and writer of the original "The Incredibles," confirmed that he was writing a sequel for the animated film. This was despite his initial hesitance on coming up with a follow-up to his film, saying that Pixar "does not look at sequels as a financial plan."
Pixar Studio, who produced the animated film, however, has yet to announce a release date for "The Incredibles 2." The movie is still said to be in the development stage.
Nevertheless, Pixar's director for 3D production, Josh Hollander, has already confirmed at the 3D Creative Summit in London last year that "The Incredibles 2" will get a three-dimensional treatment."
"Right now we're working on The Incredibles, which is a lot of fun in 3D. I'm not sure what the release strategy for it will be. It's been an interesting challenge to work on technology because - while the film was released 10 years ago - the technology is even older, as it took four years to make," Hollander was quoted by Cinema Blend as saying.
The plot of "The Incredibles 2" has also yet to be leaked, although a lot of speculation has been swirling online on what the next film will be all about.
The Inquisitr, for instance, suspects that a new villain will surface in the sequel. One possible baddie for "The Incredibles 2" is Gazerbeam, the man Mr. Incredible saved from a suicide attempt.
