'The Flash' season 2 news, spoilers update: Three Flashes could appear together 'down the road,' EP says
The three Flashes from the DC comics may one day fight side-by-side in the television series "The Flash," which is currently airing its second season.
According to Entertainment Weekly, when asked if there is a possibility that the three Flashes could appear together on the popular superhero series, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg answered, "I guess that could happen down the road."
The number of speedsters that are, have been, and will be in The CW's DC comics-based series may be confusing to those who are not fans of the "Flash" comics.
First, there's Barry Allen aka The Flash (Grant Gustin). There's also the Reverse-Flash aka Dr. Harrison Wells, who recently revealed that he is, in fact, Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher). The true identity of another speedster, Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), is unknown, though many believe that he is Hunter Zolomon.
There's also Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), The Flash of parallel universe Earth-2. His Earth-1 counterpart is Zolomon. The Third Flash (in the comics) is Wally West, who recently appeared in season 2 and is played by Keiynan Lonsdale. In the comics, Wally West eventually becomes the superhero called Kid Flash. Last but not least, TVLine reported in January that a female speedster, Trajectory, will appear in season 2 and will be played by Allison Paige.
With so many speedsters to take note of, things can quickly get confusing. But as fans of the "Flash" comic books know, the three to root for are Barry, Jay, and Wally. Will the three be teaming up to fight the bad guys on "The Flash"?
"I wouldn't want to say no, but so much of that stuff is a little bit further into the future than we've planned for right now," Kreisberg told EW. The "Flash" boss compared Wally's transformation into Kid Flash to Roy Harper's (Colton Haynes) journey to becoming Arsenal in the series "Arrow," meaning that it may take a while.
"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
