'Scream Queens' season 2 spoilers, cast news: Emma Roberts confirms return; Keke Palmer says Zayday has to come back, too
During the Television Critics Association's winter press tour in January, Fox confirmed that it had given its popular black comedy/horror series "Scream Queens" the green light for a second run. It was also revealed that the series would be bringing back several of its main cast members but will move from the fictional Wallace University to a hospital for its second season.
Now, "Scream Queens" season 1 star Emma Roberts, who played the role of Chanel Oberlin, has confirmed her return for season 2. Speaking to E! News from the Ralph Lauren Polo presentation during New York Fashion Week on Friday, Feb. 12, the actress said, "Yeah, Chanel is back!"
"I'm so excited for season two of 'Scream Queens' because I can only imagine what the writers have in store for Chanel," Roberts exclaimed.
Apart from at least four of its main cast members reprising their roles in the new season, the Fox series is also reportedly introducing four new male actors to its cast. These new cast members will reportedly play the roles of four young doctors.
Of this bit of casting news, Roberts said, "I mean, I hope there's four hot doctors because I feel like if there is anything season two needs it's four hot doctors."
Meanwhile, actress Keke Palmer, who played the role of Zayday Williams in the show's first season, said that Zayday should definitely be in season 2. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 22-year-old "Grease: Live!" actress said, "Zayday, we need to come back second season!"
"I haven't gotten any word yet, but hopefully Zayday is coming back, 'cause come on! 'Scream Queens' gotta have Zayday Williams," Palmer said.
According to Deadline, the Ryan Murphy-produced Fox series is also reportedly bringing back Jamie Lee Curtis (Cathy Munsch) and Lea Michele (Hester Ulrich). There has been no official announcement of a season 2 release date for "Scream Queens."
