Phil Robertson, the Robertson clan patriarch who is well-known for the hit reality television series "Duck Dynasty" and for his rousing right-wing speeches, is the latest personality to support Republican candidate Ted Cruz for the 2016 presidential election.

The political rally in Iowa became Robertson's soap box prior to handing the stage to the U.S. senator from Texas, as reported in Patheos.

The 69-year-old made it his battle cry as he didn't soften his stance on marriage equality and calling it "evil." Robertson also added that the devotees to such a concept should be wiped off the face of the planet.

Robertson, who was wearing his signature beard that cascaded all the way down to his chest, dark wrapped-around glasses, bandanna draped tightly on his forehead, black shirt and camo pants, asked the audience to see it his way because the whole travesty and decadence attached to such an idea.

"Don't you understand that when a fellow like me looks at the landscape and sees the depravity, the perversion — redefining marriage and telling us that marriage is not between a man and a woman? Come on Iowa! It's nonsense. It is evil. It's wicked," the former Louisiana Tech University standout quarterback called out, as shown in the video posted by CNN on YouTube.

He illuminated that the holy matrimony should only be between a man and a woman. He again declared the vileness of such a concept and that these equality supporters want the rest of the American population to accept such a norm by pushing it down to their throats.

Shortly before Cruz went onstage, Robertson added that the existing government should be harassed and taken out of the White House.

Cruz, 45, however was reportedly not entirely keen of Robertson's stand on the abolition of marriage equality proponents. Nevertheless, he applauded the reality television star's strong advocacy, characterizing the "Buck Commander" star as a remarkable individual.
