Macbook Pro 2016 release date, specs rumors: No touchscreen, to be released in June?
Apple is said to have an event this March 15 to release their line of new gadgets such as the Apple Watch 2, the iPad Air 3, and the 4-inch iPhone 5se. However, some sources say that the Macbook Pro is not going to be released until June 2016 at the Worldwide Developers Conference.
The Macbook Pro 2016 is much awaited by most tech-savvy fans. However, it might not be the touchscreen-kind everyone is expecting.
Program director with the International Data Corporation Ryan Reith told Forbes, "The way that we tend to view the iPad Pro is that it's kind of a stopgap solution until they get a Mac line to the point of a touch screen and possibly detachable keyboard. I think [a touch Mac] is inevitable. There's nothing from the supply chain or from Apple that supports that right now — I just think it's inevitable...I don't know if that's two years out or what."
There are also some rumors saying that the recent going price discounts for the 15-inch Retina 2015 Macbook Pro means that the next release is just around the corner.
Rumored specs of the Macbook Pro include a 12-inch Retina display with 2304 x 1440 pixel resolution, according to Ecumenical News. It mightl also have a 2.5GHz quad-core Core i7 CPU, an SSD storage of 512 GB and a RAM of 16 GB, and weigh 2 lbs. and be 13.1 mm thin. Apple fans are also expecting the new Macbook Pro to have 4K graphics output, and it might have organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display.
Digital Trends reported that Skylake, a 6th generation core processor microarchitecture launched in 2015 by Intel, might make its way to this Apple device. With this new upgrade, it would have a great difference when it comes to its performance, especially its battery life.
Meanwhile, Apple still hasn't released any statements regarding the upcoming devices.
