Grand County police has ruled the death of Michael Cavallari as accidental. He was the brother of reality TV personality Kristin Cavallari and the brother-in-law of NFL quarterback Jay Cutler.

On Tuesday, Feb. 9, more than two months since the 30-year-old was found dead in a rural area of southern Utah, Grand County Sheriff officials announced the autopsy findings and closed the case.

"The Medical Examiner's Office has determined the death as accidental with the cause of death, hypothermia from exposure to cold environmental temperatures," the sheriff's office announced.

On Nov. 27, 2015, Cavallari's car was found abandoned off Interstate 70. Shortly after, ground and canine search teams combed the area. On Dec. 10, his body was found at the bottom of a steep hill. At the time, police officials said that there was no suicide note and no signs of major trauma. They did not find any drugs or alcohol in the scene and in Cavallari's car.

Nighttime temperatures in the desert outside of Green River, where an extensive search for Cavallari was conducted, was reportedly at or below freezing levels at the time his car was found. According to the sheriff's office, Cavallari's car hit some big rocks, causing the air bags to deploy. It is not known how long after the crash Cavallari exited the vehicle. His phone and laptop were left inside the car.

Although the case is now closed, questions about the incident linger. According to Grand County Sheriff Steven White, they are still waiting for the results of the toxicology tests to find out if Cavallari had drugs in his system.

After her brother was found, Kristin Cavallari posted an Instagram photo of the two of them as children. She captioned it: "My heart is in a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and you will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace."

Michael Cavallari was single and had no children.
