Jeremy Lin news: Point guard might be next NBA Sixth Man of the Year awardee, finds consistency in Charlotte Hornets
Jeremy Lin is in the running for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.
Lin's on-court skills places him in position to possibly win the award. He will be contending with Victor Oladipo (Orlando Magic), Enes Kanter (Oklahoma City Thunder), Will Baron (Denver Nuggets) and Ryan Anderson (New Orleans Pelicans), as reported by CBS Sports.
On Sunday, Lin helped the Charlotte Hornets gain victory over Brooklyn Nets, 104-96. The point guard played for 31 minutes, making 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. Although his scores are not over-the-top, he plays a vital role in guarding and in offense. His defense skills are also one of the things that gave his team an upper hand.
Lin returned to the hardcourt to play for the Hornets after signing a 2-year contract with the team, four years since he played for the New York Knicks. Although he had been in a rollercoaster season with the Los Angeles Lakers, which made the audience coin the term "Linsanity," he is said to be a perfect fit for his new team. The 27-year-old player said that he had found "consistency" in the Hornets.
Last year in December, during Charlotte's shootaround in San Antonio, he said in an interview with CBS Sports, "I feel like I have figured who I'm going to be as a player. [The game] has definitely slowed down for me and I feel like I know what my brand of basketball is. But the one thing that I feel veterans have had that I don't, is some sort of consistency. That's what I would like to have at some point. Consistency in terms of location and team."
