Devout Christian and Charlotte Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin was a full-blown foodie prior to the much-awaited match between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers in NFL's biggest stage. The 6-foot-3 basketball star posted an image of himself more or less setting up a football feast for his close friends before the NFL Super Bowl kick-off.

The social media post was captioned on Instagram with Lin holding court in his kitchen: "About to break it down in the kitchen for the homies @SuperBowl,"#SB50 #domesticated

The former Harvard basketball standout's spread was more of a guilt-free grub as showcased by various healthy greens and fruits, a dozen eggs, an Old Bau Seasoning and a choice cut of lean meat.

America, during the Super Bowl, becomes a culinary mass of gastronomic proportions, with fans enjoying food that are closely tied to their favorite football teams, including Buffalo wings, Chicago dogs, Cincinnati chilies and crab cakes from Maryland.

Lin's team, however ? the much-favored Panthers ? got smothered by the Broncos in an upset 24-10. Despite the loss of his home team, the 27-year-old, who finished with 24 points and eight assists against Lebron James and the Cavaliers last Wednesday, tweeted: "Was rooting for the Panthers but gotta respect Peyton Manning...classy guy."

Manning, who declared to The Guardian that this will be his final rodeo after winning his second Super Bowl, said: "I got some good advice from Tony Dungy, and that's not to make an emotional decision. I want to go kiss my wife, kiss my kids, and celebrate with my team-mates.

Lin and the rest of the Hornets, on the other hand, are still continuing to buzz their way in the Eastern Conference of the NBA.

The Hornets managed to have another come-from-behind win against the Washington Wizards who are trailing them from behind with a 22-27 win-loss record. The Hornets, after that hard-fought "W," are now 25-26 on the 9th spot of the Eastern Conference, according to NBA
