After nine years, Matt Damon is set to reprise his role as troubled agent Jason Bourne on the big screen. The first trailer for the upcoming sequel, "Jason Bourne," made its debut during Super Bowl 50, allowing fans a preview of what the much-awaited movie has to offer.

Paul Greengrass, who directed "The Bourne Supremacy" in 2004 and "The Bourne Ultimatum" in 2007, helmed the film. The latest installment will be the fifth one in the franchise, following the "The Bourne Legacy" in 2012. Although, Damon and Greengrass were not part of the 2012 production, the two are excited to come together for the latest sequel.

In the clip, Bourne declares: "I know who I am. I remember everything." This follows his storyline in "The Bourne Identity," where, after surviving an assassination attempt on his life, he loses his memory.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Damon shared that he and Greengrass had been looking for a good story before jumping into the creation of a new "Bourne" film.

He stated: "We needed a good story to tell. Everyone involved at the studio level really wanted it to happen, but none of us wanted to force it."

He also went on to say that the three films had been a success, and an unpromising installment would ruin the legacy of the previous movies.

He said: "We just didn't want to mess it up. We were really happy with the three films and if we were going to do another one, we wanted it to fit in with the three in terms of quality."

Damon also disclosed that instead of just tapping into the three arenas of warfare, the  new "Bourne" film incorporates one of the most prevalent sections of people's lives – the Internet or the cyber arena.

Along with Damon, Julia Stiles is set to stage a comeback in the film as Nicky Parsons. "A Royal Affair" and "The Danish Girl" actress Alicia Vikander, as well as Tommy Lee Jones and Vincent Cassel, will be starring in the upcoming installment. Frank Marhsall and Jeffrey Weiner are producing the movie. Christopher Rouse and Henry Morrison serve as executive producers.

"Jason Bourne" is slated to hit the big screen on July 29.
