iPhone 5se release date, specs, features rumors: Similar specs to iPhone 6, 4 inches in size
The Internet world was abuzz after a leaked photo of an iPhone that looks similar to the iPhone 5s showed up. The photo is said to be that of the next mobile phone Apple is going to release.
The image, which was first posted on a Dutch forum, shows a different kind of iPhone sitting beside an iPhone 5s. Although similar in size, the device, which is called th (special edition), looks different because the Touch ID home button and on/off button placement is similar to those on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s models.
A lot of sources say that the photo is authentic since this has happened before with the iPad Air 2. Still, there are a lot of speculations on its specs, design and features.
According to 9to5Mac, the outward design of the new device will still be the same as the iPhone 5s but will differ in performance. This would include Apple's latest A9 and M9 processors, the iPhone 6's camera system (with the ability to take Live Photos), and an NFC chip for Apple Pay.
Korean Portal reported that the new iPhone 5se might include a barometer for the Health app; a VoLTE (Voice over LTE), which is vital for a fast data capacity; and 802.11ac Wi-Fi chips as the ones in the iPhone 6s.
The 4-inch iPhone 5se, if it exists, will cater to those consumers who are looking to upgrade their phone performance-wise but with the comfort of not upgrading to a bigger 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch iPhone.
As March approaches, the month when Apple is rumored to release new products, fans cannot wait to see what the company is about to unveil. In the past, the tech giant launched an affordable option, the iPhone 5c. Assuming that that is still their goal, this new iPhone might be their way of going about it.
Whether or not an iPhone 5se will be released, tech fans will find out next month.
