'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 teaser: Is the ocean safe?

AMC gives viewers a first look of  "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 in a 10-second teaser wherein the characters safely reach Abigail, a yacht. 

The survivors in the trailer look anxious and are always looking out, perhaps for possible intruders or where they might be headed. For a brief second, the trailer shows a group of survivors waving from a distance. 

The last picture shown in the trailer is the face of a walker drowning into the ocean.

AMC announced during the network's session at the Television Critics Association press tour last January in Pasadena, California that the first episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 will hit TV screens on April 10 at 9/8c p.m. The network revealed that it will have 15 episodes in total. However, according to Vareity, it will be divided into two installments this year. The first seven episodes are reported to air this first week of April, while the second half will be seen in the last quarter this year.

"Fear," being a spin-off of the highly acclaimed "The Walking Dead," was reported to have had the highest premiere views in television history with at least 10.1 million and a rating of 6.3, according Nielsen as reported by TV by the Numbers. The two esteemed zombie apocalypse-themed series are brainchildren of AMC. "The Walking Dead" debuted at 5.4 million in 2010, which was considerably high six years ago.

On a related note, on Oct. 4, 2015, AMC released a 16-episode miniseries, exclusively aired on the Web, called "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462." It features a number of survivors inside a flying plane during the first few weeks when the outbreak happened. This miniseries airs every Sunday on AMC's website in order to aid in promoting the second season of "Fear the Walking Dead" and the sixth season of "The Walking Dead."

"Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462" is considered to be the first crossover tying the flagship and the spin-off show together.

The second half of "The Walking Dead" season 6 premiered on Feb. 14. It airs Sundays on AMC.
