Game developer id Software has revealed through a Twitter response that the much awaited "Doom (2016)" will offer at least 13 hours of gameplay in its single-player campaign. The Feb. 12 tweet suggests that the length of gameplay, like any kind of game, will depend on the skills of the gamer in smashing the difficulty level.

"Doom" has been in the business since 1993. It is horror-themed and what makes it sell is that it is a first-person shooter game. The original "Doom" only lasted about an hour for gamers to finish, but the newly developed "Doom (2016)" may take over a dozen hours to beat with loads of monsters to shoot.

The trend for single-player campaigns have taken a backseat as multiplayer games have taken up the torch. This is evident in the number of game developers working on multiplayer games. This news about the new "Doom" is something that will undoubtedly delight those who prefer to play solo.

Game enthusiasts may doubt the validity of the teaser tweet by id Software, especially since game developer 343 Industries seems to have exaggerated the "Halo 5: Guardians" campaign hours. The studio, according to Tech Times, predicted that it woud be twice longer than its predecessor, "Halo 4," but it came out to be roughly similar in length.

id Software's tweet, through the official Twitter account of "Doom," specifically states that the people who have tested the game in their headquarters have played it at least 13 hours long to finish. This assures "Doom" enthusiasts that the developer could not have possibly just thrown a random number as a teaser, and that it was most likely a close guestimate.

The standard gaming time for FPS games usually last between six to 10 hours these days. With Id Software's new revelation, fans are wondering how the developers were able to keep the game from being stale.

"Doom" is set to be launched on May 13 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. There will be a beta release before the final launch but id Software has yet to announce the date for the beta.
