With only three months standing between fans and the release of "Captain America: Civil War," Marvel fanatics now have their first look at Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in the much-anticipated film.

The new trailer for "Civil War," the third stand-alone "Captain America" film and the opener of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was dropped during Super Bowl 50, and in it, viewers had the first glimpse of Ant-Man in what is shaping up to be one of the most iconic sequences in MCU history.

The airport scene, in which the Marvel characters are facing off against each other, marks the first in which Ant-Man appears on-screen with other characters (who are not Falcon) from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In "Ant-Man" (2015), Scott Lang famously (and hilariously) faced off with Falcon outside the new Avengers headquarters.

Before the new Super Bowl trailer came out, fans had only seen Ant-Man in promo art for "Civil War." Apart from revealing the live-action Ant-Man, the short teaser also confirmed which side of the "Civil War" he will be on. What was not shown, however, was confirmation that Ant-Man will have learned how to turn into Giant-Man by his second cinematic outing, as leaked Lego photos have revealed.

Apart from showing Ant-Man for the first time, the TV spot also highlighted both sides of the war, with the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Captain America (Chris Evans), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Ant-Man, and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) on one side, and Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Vision (Paul Bettany), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) on the other.

The trailer also gave a closer view of an injured and unconscious (or dead?) War Machine, leaving fans to wonder if Iron Man's best friend will suffer the same fate as Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015).

"Captain America: Civil War" hits theaters on May 6.
