Benedict Cumberbatch Wedding News: Sherlock Actor Ties Knot With Pregnant Sophie Hunter
Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch has tied the knot with her pregnant fiancee, British playwright, Sophie Hunter.
The popular 38-year-old actor got married on Valentine's Day on, according to a report posted on the CNN website.
The wedding rites were held on the Isle of Wight with Cumberbatch and Hunter's close friends and family in attendance.
Among those who reportedly attended the wedding were actors Tom Hiddleston and Martin Freeman.
After the hour-long wedding ceremony, the reception was reported held in nearby Mottistone Manor.
Cumberbatch's spokeswoman, Karon Maskill, also confirmed in a separate news report posted on BBC's website that the "Sherlock" star already exchanged wedding vows with Hunter.
Maskille described Cumberbatch and Hunter's wedding as "magical."
The Daily Mail meanwhile published photos showing the newly-weds leaving the Sun Inn Pub in Hulverstone a day after their marriage.
Cumberbatch first met his 36-year-old wife during the shooting of the 2009 movie, "Burlesque Fairytales," where both of them appeared.
The couples' engagement was announced last November through an eight-line notice published on the Times newspaper.
Cumberbatch is nominated for Oscar Best Actor for his role as mathematician Alan Turing in the movie "The Imitation Game." He is also known for his role in "The Hobbit" and "Star Trek Into The Darkness."
Hunter, meanwhile, is a playwright, singer, theater director and actress who has previously appeared in "Torchwood" and "Midsomer Murders."
Before his wedding with Hunter, Cumberbatch previously dated actress Olivia Poulet and designer Anna Jones.
