'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Release Date Not Scheduled Until 2016
There is good news and bad news for the fans of the 'Attack on Titan' anime. The good news is that it is now confirmed that there will be a second season for the manga series and the bad news is that it won't be coming out till sometime in 2016.
The announcement was made during the release of the first 'Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow' compilation movie at an event at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo, Japan. The production's director Tetsuro Araki together with Y?ki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa) and Marina Inoue (Armin) were among the team that took to the stage at the event where the cast was unveiled in their costumes.
It will definitely be a long wait for the anime's fans but with the confirmation that Wit Studios kicked off the production in October 2014, there's something to look forward to. However, an official date for the release was not given and keeping in mind that the season's sequel is not out yet, it is clear that Season II is not coming out any time soon.
The anime whose production began in September 2009 is based on the story 'Shingeki no Kyojin' popularly known as 'Attack on Titan' written by Hajime Isayama. It tells a story about a world where humans live in connected cities that are surrounded by huge walls to keep the Titans away. The giants make their way through the erected walls and cause massive destruction and devour humans to near extinction.
It is during one of the attacks that leaves Eren's mother dead that drives him, his foster sister Mikasa and Armin, his childhood friend, to join the fight against the Titans. The three are recruited into the 'Survey Corps' and begin their training to sharpen their fighting skills. They then join the soldiers engaging the giants and at one point, Eren discovers special powers deep inside him.
