Android 5.0 Lollipop Update on LG G3 Problems: Some Users Experiencing Bug Issues
Some users of LG's flagship smartphone, LG G3, have been complaining about some problems they encountered in getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
According to some LG G3 users in the Android Central forum, their smartphones were updated even though they did not accept the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to make avoid major bugs or problems.
This problem is particularly prevalent among LG G3 users subscribing to AT&T. Based on a report posted on GottaBeMobile.com, the telecommunications company is making a lot of software updates mandatory, thus surprising many users who did not even update their smartphones.
Another problem being encountered by LG G3 users with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update concerns the lock screen. In the latest version of the mobile operating system developed by Google, LG G3 lock screens and notifications in the pulldown drawer have been completely tweaked and redesigned, thus losing some features.
With the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, LG G3 users will only get two notifications at a time. The double tap feature of the Android 5.0 Lollipop that can be used to open notifications still do not work with LG's flagship smartphone, requiring users to swipe to open.
Aside from automatic updates and lock screen problems, LG G3 users are also experiencing shorter battery life with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Some users have complained of crashing apps, extremely hot devices, slow processing, and even unwanted device reboots.
Google is nevertheless working to address these issues with the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, which was launched in June last year. Quite recently, Google released the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to address some issues encountered by users. An Android 5.1 Lollipop update is also in the works, possibly to solve battery life problems.
