Fresh faces will meet familiar ones when the popular horror miniseries, "American Horror Story," returns for its fifth season this October.

The biggest casting news for the critically acclaimed horror anthology came last March, when pop superstar Lady Gaga announced via Twitter that she will star in the show.

Lady Gaga posted a 22-second video of herself, with her face covered, spinning towards the camera. In the same video, the eccentric singer also revealed that the next installment of "American Horror Story" will be subtitled "Hotel."

Entertainment Weekly reported that the show's creators, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, have been talking to Lady Gaga since last fall. The popstar became "fully on board" in the show after a role in "American Horror Story: Hotel" was crafted for her.

Shortly after Lady Gaga's confirmation, American actor Matt Bomer was also confirmed to be joining the next season of "American Horror Story." He will star opposite Lady Gaga.

Bomer already appeared as a guest star in the most recent season of "American Horror Story," "Freak Show."

Veteran actress Jessica Lange, who has been with the show since its first season, will however not return for "American Horror Story: Hotel."

"We've had a great run here. I mean, I absolutely love doing these four characters, and in all the madness, I love the writers and Ryan (Murphy) and the insanity of shooting it," Lange was quoted by deadline.com as saying.

Nevertheless, another veteran of the miniseries, Sarah Paulson, confirmed a few days ago that she will be returning for "American Horror Story: Hotel."

Murphy announced via Twitter that Paulson will be "the baddest bad girl of them all" in the next season.

Other confirmed cast members of "American Horror Story: Hotel" include Kathy Bates, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley and Cheyenne Jackson.
