Microsoft just announced the four games that will be made available for free in March. Two games will be for the Xbox One and the other two, for the Xbox 360. As part of the Games with Gold program, the four games are free for a limited period of time only.

First on the list is "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment" ($29.99 ERP), wherein gamers get to play as Detective Sherlock Holmes in crime-investigating and crime-solving scenarios. With Dr. Watson as their sidekick, players will have an adventure while managing to overcome moral choices. Inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories, it is designed in a way wherein players can have the freedom of choice to solve the mysteries. It is available for the whole month of Match on Xbox One.

Next one is "Lords of the Fallen" ($39.99 ERP), which will be available from March 16 to April 15 on Xbox One. Dark hero Harkyn needs to stop a deadly war between humans and demons.

For Xbox 360, "Supreme Commander 2" is available for free starting from March 1 to 15. The strategic game's objective is to create an army that would destroy the enemy in the given different scenarios. Players also get to customize their army covering land, sea and air battles.

The final game title in the list is a classic. "Borderlands" is one of those games where there is shooting and role-playing while the characters are trying to survive the wastelands of Pandora. This will be available on Xbox 360 from March 16 to 31.

All the above titles are free to those with an active live Xbox gold subscription. For those who want to play the Xbox 360 games on their Xbox One, they can do so using Backward Compatibility.

Meanwhile, Xbox users can still enjoy some of the games from this month's lineup: "Hand of Fate" until Feb. 29, "Styx: Master of Shadows" until March 15 for Xbox One; and "Gears of War 2" until Feb. 29 for Xbox 360.
