Samsung appliances news: New smart machines line for 2016 unveiled
Samsung Consumer Electronics has recently revealed its new line of smart appliances at their Asia and Europe forum. The wide range of appliances include state-of-the-art washing machines, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners as well as televisions.
Focused on building a "Smarter Tomorrow," HC Hong, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics in Southwest Asia, said, as reported by The Himalayan Times, "Our focus for 2016 is to bring path-breaking technologies, innovative products, best-in-industry designs and products that set benchmarks in their respective categories."
At their European Forum, Samsung introduced the AddWash washing machine equipped with their Eco Bubble technology, which conserves more power and water. The upgraded AddWash has an additional feature: a second door that allows the person to add extra clothes even when the wash cycle has started. Samsung said the machine is set for sale in Europe this February.
Another machine that was unveiled at the forum is the Family Hub refrigerators equipped with a voice command control, allowing users to control it hands-free. This new line of refrigerator also allows users to see what's inside their fridges even without opening the door. The Family Hub is reported to cost up to 3,000 euros for the standard version and 6,000 euros for the American-type refrigerator.
According to Elen Corvoisier, Samsung's marketing director, this new breed of smart appliances are meant to improve user comfort because they are easy to set up and use.
Moreover, The Malay Mail Online quotes her as saying, "All of these products are easy to use, connect and set up. They need to be able to blend into the décor."
At their Asia Forum, the company also announced that they are going to launch their new edition of Galaxy A smartphones that are equipped with the latest features coupled with classy design. Some of those features include a fingerprint sensor, LTE CAT 6, a sophisticated glass design as well as fast charging capabilities.
Along with the new edition of smartphones, Samsung also unveiled their flagship 4K SUHD TV, marketed as the KS9000 in the U.K., which they claimed has the world's first bezel-less curved design.
