Tech giant Microsoft Corp. is reportedly working on another larger screened tablet, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

According to an article on WCCTech.com, Microsoft may launch the Microsoft Surface Pro this year, as an answer to Apple's iPad Pro.

As to the exact date of the release, Microsoft has not released any yet, and the release dates for past Surface products do not provide much of a clue.

The original Surface was released in October 2012. The next one, Surface Pro, was unveiled in February 2013. In October of the same year, Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 were both released. The follow-up arrived in June last year, the Surface Pro 3.

Despite the absence of an exact release date, the coming of Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is almost a certainty, since Surface Pro 2 has already been removed from the market, and Pro 3's price has been significantly slashed.

Talking about specifications, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will reportedly adopt Intel's energy-efficient chips similar to Apple's new MacBook and MacBook Air, although the Surface Pro may use a newer chip: the Skylake.

According to neowin.net, Intel is working on a new 14nm chip, scheduled to be released in the second half of this year, for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. This new chip is expected to give the new Microsoft device and edge over recent Apple products, which operates on Intel's Broadwell chips.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is expected to have the same resolution to the current Surface Pro 3. The new larger screened tablet will reported by launched in two versions.
