Lenovo has posted a teaser of their upcoming smartphone for the 2016 Mobile World Congress on Twitter. The teaser image shows a phone encased in an all-metal body and many suspect that it is the Lemon 3 Plus, a bigger version of the Lemon 3 which is already available in the Chinese market and priced at roughly over $100.

Despite the teaser, the Lemon 3 Plus is not Lenovo's flagship mobile phone but a mid-range phone packed with premium features. It is rumored to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor. The phone is also said to have a 5.5 full-HD IPS display as well as an Adreno 405 GPU.

Like its predecessor, the Lemon 3, many suspect that the Lemon 3 Plus will be equipped with rear and front cameras, which are at 13 megapixels and 5 megapixels, respectively. It is also expected to have a microSD card slot, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and USB 2.0 connectivity. Fans should also expect the new phone to have LTE support and a dual SIM slot.

It will reportedly run on Android Lollipop 5.1 coupled with a 3 GB RAM and 15 GB internal storage. This means that the new Lenovo smartphone will not get Google's latest operating system, the Android Marshmallow.

The supposedly Lemon 3 Plus launch will be some sort of Lenovo's move not to let its competitor, Xiaomi, monopolize the mid-range phone market. Moreover, it is also Lenovo's strategy to market their mobile phones as affordable yet powerful.

As of the moment, the Lemon 3 handset is only available in China in silver and gold. Therefore, a lot of people speculate that the Lemon 3 Plus will also be available in the same colors.

However, Lenovo observers say that the new phone might not be called the Lemon 3 Plus and those who are anticipating this new handset from the company will have to wait for the official launch of this mysterious handset at the 2016 Mobile World Congress.
