'Keep It Shut' warns against gossip & social media
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Christian Examiner) -- With the average woman spitting out about 20,000 words a day, devotional writer Karen Ehman shares how to stem the inevitable tide in her new book, Keep It Shut: What To Say, How To Say It, And When To Say Nothing At All.
Using biblical examples -- and some of her own personal stories -- Ehman writes frankly about gossip and social media in her new book which is being promoted as an online Bible study for Proverbs 31 Ministries.
The book, according to Proverbs31.com, teaches women "how to pause before you pounce, attacking the problem but not the person," and "how to avoid saying something permanently painful just because you are temporarily ticked off."
A bonus is teaching from the Bible about "speech laced with grace, as sweet as honey and yet seasoned with salt."
The online course is set for January 26 - March 6 and books purchased by Jan. 25 come with a free devotional gift, according to Proverbs 31 Ministries.
In addition to the 240-page book, published by Zondervan, a study guide and DVD are also available.
Ehman is a Proverbs 31 Ministries author and speaker, and writes Encouragement for Today, online devotions reaching over one million women daily. She is the author of eight books and has been married over 25 years and has three children. Her website features a sample chapter of her book, as well as other resources.
