Even though the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus were just released a few months ago, Apple fans are already eagerly awaiting the release of the newest smartphones, which will most likely be called the iPhone 7.

According to the website Macworld.co.uk, the iPhone 7's size will mostly likely be similar to the iPhone 6, which has a 4.7-inch screen, or the iPhone 6 Plus, which has a 5.5-inch screen.

The website cited an anonymous source in Apple's supply chain as saying that the giant smartphone company do not have plans to manufacture another 4-inch screen mobile device, similar to the iPhone 4s.

As to the release date, the iPhone 7 will likely be unveiled by the middle of September this year. This prediction is based on the pattern of release dates of past iPhones.

The iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c were all unveiled in the middle of September 2013. Also in mid-September last year, Apple launched the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

An article posted on TechTimes.com meanwhile said Apple is exploring the possibility of manufacturing a glasses-free 3D screen for the iPhone 7. Consequently, the next version of the iPhone may also be built with an ecosystem for 3D hardware and software.

Meanwhile, the tech website PCPro.com reported that the iPhone 7 may run using a new A9 processor and an M9 motion coprocessor. These processors are expected to be improved versions of the capabilities of those used in earlier iPhones.
