'I am not dead because of a name - Jesus,' Louie Giglio says
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Christian Examiner) – That Jesus alone entered into the dilemma of sin with the power to save people from eternity without God – is cause for celebration, Louie Giglio told nearly 14,000 gathered at the Send North America Conference 2015 in Nashville Aug. 3.
"Jesus knew He was the only one that could bring dead people to life again," Giglio told a roaring crowd. "I am not dead because of a name – Jesus!"
Giglio, the pastor of Passion City Church in Atlanta, said the truth does not change and the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers will empower them to share with others so that they can be live a life that is "undead."
It is all about the name of Jesus. We have all been given the privilege to carry the name.
Delivering a Gospel-centered message in which he adamantly declared Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation – Giglio urged all believers to share their testimony about the resurrected Christ.
"The plan is that we will be His witnesses [and] tell people about the one who is no longer dead," Giglio said.
Preaching from the book of Acts in the Bible, Giglio shared six points about being witnesses for Christ.
God has a plan, He sent the power, there was a proclamation, and it was followed by pushback, then there was propulsion – and finally the focus leads to the inward man -- that which is shown through the person of Ananias, who was told to "Go," Giglio said.
"It is all about the name of Jesus," Giglio said. "We have all been given the privilege to carry the name."
"I like that this conference is called SEND and not SIT," Giglio said.
