Good news to all "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans: You can share your Valentine's Day in the next few years with your favorite characters of the erotic romance novel on the big screen, with the recently announced released dates of the sequels to this year's box office hit.

According to an article on the Entertainment Weekly website, American film studio Universal Pictures revealed this week that it will be showing the immediate sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey," entitled "Fifty Shades Darker," on February 10, 2017.

Universal Pictures also announced at the annual CinemaCon Convention that the third film to complete the trilogy, entitled "Fifty Shades Freed," will meanwhile be shown on February 9, 2018.

The two sequels of "Fifty Shades of Grey" have to exceed high expectations at the box office, after the original film raked up $166 million domestically and over $500 million worldwide. Forbes.com reported that it only the sixth R-Rated film to exceed this mark.

Also this week, Universal Pictures announced that Niall Leonard, the husband of "Fifty Shades" author E.L. James, will be writing the screenplay for the upcoming sequel.

Leonard, who was described by producer Micahel De Luca as an "outstanding writer," has written the screenplay of some television shows in the past, including "Wire in the Blood" and "Monarch of Glen."

However, the "Fifty Shades" sequel has yet to find a director, after the helmer of the first movie, Sam Taylor-Johnson, left the franchise a few months ago.

The "Fifty Shades" trilogy stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who plays a couple whose romance is complicated by sadomasochistic sexual activities.
