OLYMPICS: Faith in Rio
RIO DE JANEIRO (Christian Examiner) — For most Olympians, representing their country comes first, but for some — maybe even a few — the cross they wear around their neck, the words they share in praise, or the posturing they take part in on the field, means they have more than gold in mind when they compete.
The athletes highlighted below are representative of those who have in many aspects put Jesus Christ first in their lives, or at a minimum are learning to thank and praise Him for the gift of athleticism He has bestowed as his or her Creator.
We celebrate the spirit of the Olympics and the Olympians who are unafraid to give praise and glory to Jesus Christ:
