Apple gadgets news, rumors: 4-inch iPhone, new iPad Air to be released in March?
Rumors are once again churning that Apple is set to launch the newest iPhone and iPad Air at an event on March 15.
According to the sources of 9TO5Mac, Apple is set to reveal the new products next month and put them on sale three days after the launch, which means that the new iPhone and iPad might become available on March 18. Moreover, there is likely to be no pre-orders for the new devices. If this pushes through, then this can be deemed as a new strategy for the company since, as the site pointed out, Apple used to have pre-orders months before the actual sale of their new items.
Called the iPhone 5se, the new 4-inch iPhone will reportedly not be under the iPhone 7 flagship. In an Apple Insider report, KGI analyst Ming Chi Kuo predicted that the new smartphone will look like a buffed up version of the iPhone 5s. He further added that the device will have an A9SoC like its predecessor, but will not include 3-D Touch capabilities to differentiate it from Apple's flagship iPhone line. There have been leaked images of the new iPhone 5se; however, it has not been confirmed whether they are real or not.
Alongside the iPhone 5se, Apple will also reportedly release its new iPad Air, as well as a series of Apple Watch bands. Rumor has it that the new iPad Air will sport features like the Smart Connector as well as an updated version of the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. Further predictions say that the iPad Air 3 will have an upgraded camera with a rear flash and an A9 processor.
Apple has not released any official statement confirming or denying the rumors about their upcoming devices.
In other related news, Apple is financially backing a Dr. Dre series called "Vital Signs." According to an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporter, the series is Apple's first original scripted television show and will be distributed by Apple Music. Whether iTunes or Apple TV will be involved in the project is not yet clear at present.
