Another Texas Ebola scare just as mourning for first patient begins

DALLAS (Christian Examiner) -- Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas released an alert at 3 p.m. announcing another patient has been admitted for possible Ebola virus exposure.

Stating that "there are more questions than answers" at this time, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital spokesman, Wendell Watson added that the unidentified patient was seen by emergency room personnel and that the hospital was prepared to coordinate efforts with state and federal officials who were part of the care and administration for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S.

Duncan was pronounced dead at 7:51 a.m. today, and the staff that cared for him was described as just starting to grieve for him.

However, Watson was clear that hospital was prepared to handle the new Ebola case.

"We are on alert with precautions and systems in place," Watson said, emphasizing that the hospital was safe for continuing care to its other patients and for handling other normal admissions.
