The mid-season preview of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 has been released, confirming that the new season will premiere on March 8. Enemies never seen before were revealed, posing an ultimate challenge to the team.

The adversaries have progressed to having immortal bodies in which bullets just pass through them. Other opponents suddenly replicate into multiple bodies.

One highlight of this new season is the return of Ward (Brett Dalton), who was supposedly killed at the end of the mid-season finale episode. However, his death was quite temporary as "The Beast" found its way into Ward's seemingly dead corpse and breathed new life into him, transforming him into a human beast.

Comic Book Resources reported that Elizabeth Henstridge (Agent Jemma Simmons) has dropped hints about Ward's new character, saying, "And now Ward is Hive and takes on the memories of people he's killed, so that's going to have some interesting situations."

The International Business Times also reported that Coulson (Clark Gregg) could be a changed man, too, when he returns to Earth after killing Agent Ward as a result of the traumatic encounter.

The executive producer of the show, Jeff Bell was also interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter. The report described what transpired in the previous season, where Coulson intentionally hit hard Ward's chest until he choked to death.

Bell gave an interesting comment about this when he said, "Coulson believes he left that person dead on another planet as does Fitz. Should they happen to run into each other in the back half, I think it will be fairly explosive and interesting."

The explosive twist is soon to be seen as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on March 8.
